I feel embarrassed, but I Need To Ask
To my friends, subscribers and followers, I am asking for help. I am in debt and the payments I make towards paying down my credit cards get swallowed up by the interest. I know that some of you have assisted me over the past few years and I am grateful for your largesse.
I just recently had my debit card hacked and now have to switch cards and all the hassles that go along with it. After talking over ideas on how to accomplish my goal to be back to normal by the end of 2025 with a good friend, I added a buymeacoffee.com button, which is a quick and easy way to contribute to my bank account. A year ago, I got hit with a notice from Social Security that my income was being cut and my Medicaid turned off until I divested myself of close to $9,000 that I had saved since my dad died four years ago, erroneously thinking that I could save money because I was no longer on SSI. Think again, Mr. Bond.
I am attempting to also set up a MIABLE account so I can save money and use it in case I decide to move to Portugal (aka Expat central at the moment) or the current occupant decides to blow it all up and rid America of its safety net for seniors and disabled (of which both apply to me), or gets rid of the Fed and we go back to bank runs and panics and I go back to getting $3 in SNAP benefits (aka Food Stamps) and bad cheese, rice, powered milk and pinto beans, then I need to rebuild my credit and get some cushion.

I went through bankruptcy once, I do not ever wish to go through that again. Plus, I don’t have the support system I had 30 years ago, either (none of us do). Any contribution will be gladly accepted, no matter the amount. Once I hit my goal ($12,500) I will let everyone know. I am not greedy. I do not need to be rich beyond my dreams of avarice. I just need some help, in whatever form you wish to provide.
We are living in uncertain times. We all have issues and problems. I don’t ask this lightly or to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. I am concerned for the future, not just mine, but my friends and family’s as well.
Life happens. We’re here and then we’re not. I’d take the former over the latter, as would we all. Some of you who read this, I’ve known since childhood, others 40, 50 years or longer. Whatever you can spare, will be appreciated. I thank all of you for your support and for reading this.
